First Nations Women’s Forum - 5 MarchFacilitated by the First Nations Workers’ Alliance, this forum will bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander union women in a First-nations led space ahead of IWWD. When: 1pm–5pm, Thursday 5 March 2026 This is a First Nations-only space. All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander union women are encouraged to attend.

IWWD Statewide Union Training Day - 6 March
Multiple activities will run throughout the day. Here is a full breakdown of the day.
This training is open to women and gender diverse union members. Union members should express interest by 23 February.
9.00am - 11.45am
Women's Rights at Work Training
We will be kicking the day with a 3-hour training designed to build skills and knowledge to represent and organise women in the workplace.
It’s a practical session that covers:
• Facilitated discussion about our experiences at work
• The rights and protections available, including new legislation to advance gender equality
• The legal frameworks you can use
• Practical tools and actions you can take back to your workplaces
12.00pm - Head outside for the IWWD rally and BBQ!
1.30pm to 3.45pm
Bystander Action Training | Gendered Violence Focus
This 2-hour training gives you the tools to step in when you see disrespect or harassment at work.
You’ll learn:
• Why bystander action is critical to building workplace solidarity
• How to identify situations that need bystander intervention
• How to intervene safely and why it can be challenging
This training focuses on gendered violence but applies broadly, including to racism, bullying and everyday discrimination.
4pm to 4.45pm
Feminist Tour of Trades Hall
Wrap up your day with a walking tour through Trades Hall.
Follow in the footsteps of trailblazing women like Helen Robertson, Zelda D’Aprano, and Gwen Goedecke, and discover how they paved the way for feminist unionists today.
9am to 5 pm
1 Day OHS HSR Refresher | Work-Related Gendered Violence
This full-day course is a WorkSafe-approved HSR Refresher course, focused on how to identify and respond to gendered violence at work.
You’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to raise these issues effectively through the proper OHS channels.
This training is open to all elected HSRs and Deputy HSRs.
Join the rally for women's rights on the 6th!Join us for the IWWD rally and show the power of working women and gender diverse people in our movement. Expect great speakers from across the union movement, singing of feminist songs, line dancing, a collective action moment, and a barbecue! This is your chance to raise your voice, show up in numbers, and build momentum for real change! WHERE: Trades Hall steps, 54 Lygon St, Carlton WHEN: 12pm to 1.30pm, 6 March Spread the word and share our Facebook event! All women, non-binary and gender diverse people, our comrades and allies are encouraged to join the rally. Children, families and pets welcome. Bring signs, union flags and your best chanting voice!
