Bystander Action Training

Bystander Action Training

Learn how to be an active bystander when you see disrespect at work.

Bystander action training is a 2-hour course designed to give union members the skills and confidence to safely and effectively stand together against unsafe behaviours in the workplace.  While the course targets gendered violence , including sexual harassment, it can be used in other situations, such as bullying, too.

When we step in to support each other, we make our workplaces safer and stronger.

What the course covers:

  • When behaviour crosses the line
  • How sexual harassment is both an occupational health and safety issue and an industrial issue
  • Why bystander action is important, and a vital part of solidarity at work
  • Challenges in intervening
  • Different ways to intervene safely and effectively

Who should attend?

This course is intended for workers who are union. Whether you work for a union, are a union delegate or union member you’ll gain the skills and confidence to step in and respond when you witness unsafe behaviours. Regardless of your role everyone can play a part in challenging disrespect and supporting safer workplaces.
