The Trades Hall has been undergoing an enormous renovation over the last six years. We recently completed stage two of our works.
Previously, the building reflected its age and was a difficult place for the disability community to attend. Our restoration works have made Trades Hall a much more accessible space for our community, though more improvements are in the works. Contact us if you need more information.
Lifts
- DDA lift is at the front of the building at the Lygon St entrance
- Central, internal lift provides access to all public function spaces
Bathrooms
- DDA compliant bathroom facilities are accessible on every floor near the lifts and in the central toilet block.
- Some of our event spaces require a circuitous route but all can be reached in a motorised wheelchair.
- All bathrooms are gender neutral, besides the male toilets located on the ground floor of the 1960's rear building.
Baby change facilities are available on floor 2.
Narrow doorways - some rooms in the oldest section of the building, have narrower doorways that may challenge some users.
- Dhumba-Dhan-In (formally the Evatt room) - door width 1.2m
- The Quilt Room - double doors each 0.7m.
