Venue Access

The Trades Hall has been undergoing an enormous renovation over the last six years. We recently completed stage two of our works.

Previously, the building reflected its age and was a difficult place for the disability community to attend. Our restoration works have made Trades Hall a much more accessible space for our community, though more improvements are in the works. Contact us if you need more information.

Lifts

  • DDA lift is at the front of the building at the Lygon St entrance
  • Central, internal lift provides access to all public function spaces

Bathrooms

  • DDA compliant bathroom facilities are accessible on every floor near the lifts and in the central toilet block.
  • Some of our event spaces require a circuitous route but all can be reached in a motorised wheelchair.
  • All bathrooms are gender neutral, besides the male toilets located on the ground floor of the 1960's rear building.

Baby change facilities are available on floor 2.

Narrow doorways - some rooms in the oldest section of the building, have narrower doorways that may challenge some users.

  • Dhumba-Dhan-In (formally the Evatt room) - door width 1.2m
  • The Quilt Room - double doors each 0.7m.
