HSR Refresher OHS Training Course
Under Section 67 of the OHS Act 2004, all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to attend a 1-day WorkSafe-approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course each year they hold office, after completing the 5-Day HSR Initial Course.
HSRs have the right to:
-
Choose the course, in consultation with their employer
-
Attend on paid time
-
Have the employer cover the course and associated costs
Why should HSRs and DHSRs attend a yearly Refresher course?
All HSRs and DHSRs should attend a yearly 1-day HSR Refresher OHS training course to stay up-to-date with key changes to OHS legislation, regulations, compliance codes and guides, revisit parts of the HSR Initial course and gain a specialised understanding of particular hazards identification and control.
All courses are approved by WorkSafe and include relevant case studies and activities that provide HSRs and DHSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their co-workers (ie. their designated work group) when raising health and safety concerns in the workplace.
Choose from a range of HSR Refresher OHS courses:
-
General HSR Refresher – Suitable for any workplace or industry
-
Work-Related Gendered Violence (WRGV) – Open to all HSRs regardless of gender or the gender composition of your DWG, workplace or industry. Learn how HSRs can identify risks and use their powers to address work-related gendered violence as a health and safety issue.
