HSR Refresher OHS Training Course
Under Section 67 of the OHS Act 2004, all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to attend a 1-day WorkSafe-approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course each year they hold office, after completing the 5-Day HSR Initial Course.
HSRs have the right to:

Choose the course, in consultation with their employer

Attend on paid time

Have the employer cover the course and associated costs
This HSR Refresher OHS training courses are approved by WorkSafe and include relevant case studies and activities that provide HSRs and DHSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their co-workers (ie. their designated work group) when raising health and safety concerns in the workplace. It provides participants an opportunity to revisit aspects of the HSR Initial OHS Training Course.
What the course covers:
- Session 1: Key updates to the Victorian OHS 2004 Act, OHS Regulations 2017 and WorkSafe's compliance codes and guides
- Session 2: Consultation, communication and problem-solving skills
- Sessions 3 & 4: Hazard identification and control with a focus on either manual handling, work-related gendered violence, work-related stress, incident investigation or hazard mapping

General HSR Refresher – Suitable for any workplace or industry

Work-Related Gendered Violence (WRGV) – Open to all HSRs regardless of gender or the gender composition of your DWG or workplace. Learn how HSRs can identify risks and use their powers to address work-related gendered violence as a health and safety issue.

Education Sector-Specific – Tailored for HSRs in early childhood, schools, TAFE, or university settings. Note: HSRs in the educator sector can also attend General or WRGV courses.

Fee: $450 + GST

Step 4: Receive enrolment confirmation.
Please note: You must submit a completed registration form in order to be enrolled on a course.
Courses require a minimum of 12 participants to proceed. If the event that the minimum number of enrolments are not met we will contact you to reschedule.
