That means there are industries like manufacturing, warehousing, transport and logistics which are dominated by male workers and other industries like nursing, education and social work that a dominated by women workers. Workplaces for Women is aimed at creating workplaces in male dominated industries that are safe, respectful, equal and inclusive for all workers.

To achieve true equality at work and close our gender pay gap, we need to remove barriers to work in historically male dominated industries and occupations. When we create workplaces that are accessible, fair and safe for women, they're better for everyone.
Union members have always been at the forefront of the struggle forward towards gender equality - and the good news is, we've recently won new workplace rights aimed at promoting gender equality at work, including new laws to:
That all sounds good - but we know that unless workers and union members on the ground know what they mean and how they can work in their industry, we won't get the change we need, as fast as we need it.
