An Authorised Representative of a Registered Employee Organisation (ARREO) permit gives union organisers another way to address workplace health and safety issues head-on.
Under the Victorian OHS Act, a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) can seek help from any person - this can include another HSR, a workplace colleague, or a person with sufficient knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) from outside the workplace, for example, an authorised representative of a registered employee organisation (ARREO).
To obtain an ARREO entry permit from the Magistrates’ Court, you must first complete a WorkSafe-approved ARREO training course.
The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is an approved provider of this training.
More information about ARREOs is available here.
