The Walk Against Family Violence takes place on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and it marks the start of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Family violence is a workplace issue. Union members recently won 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave as a universal workplace right for all workers, including casuals. This is a historic and life-saving achievement that we should celebrate, and recognise that by addressing family violence as a workplace issue, together we can end family violence.
Join the union contingent at the Walk Against Family Violence in solidarity with victim-survivors and continue the fight to end family violence.
Meet the union contingent at 11.00am at Parliament Gardens, for 11.30am start at Parliament. Wear your union gear or the colour orange.
