This year, we have the power to make history together, with the monumentally important referendum on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.
That's why we are having a night to meet and skill up so you are ready to hit the streets to talk to your family, work colleagues, friends and neighbours about why we all need to vote YES for constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
At the training we will hear from Patrick Taylor, National Union of Students First Nations Officer, and messaging guru, Edwina Byrne.
The training will cover:
- Script with conversation points
- How to handle objections when discussing the referendum
- Opportunities to practice in small groups
We will be providing some drinks and snacks and it'll be a great opportunity to meet up with other young worker activists.
Our Solidarity Night will be at Victorian Trades Hall Council on Tuesday 2nd of May at 6pm.
This is a COVID safe event, please ensure you are fully vaccinated, bring a mask just in case, sanitize and check in.
Workers aged 30 and under are encouraged to attend Young Workers Centre events.
