Venue:

Victorian Trades Hall Council, 54 Victoria St, Carlton

Getting there:

Victorian Trades Hall Council is located on the corner of Lygon St and Victoria St in Carlton South. Trades Hall is a 600-metre walk from Melbourne Central Station, or accessible by trams along Swanston Street or the 86 or 96 with a short walk. Melbourne Central tram stop is wheelchair accessible. The 200
and 207 bus lines stop directly outside Trades Hall. There is limited on-street parking around Lygon St and Victoria St. We suggest planning in advance and
carefully checking the parking limitations.

Entering the venue:

You may enter Trades Hall through the main Lygon St entrance or Victoria St entrance. The entrance to Trades Hall on Victoria Street has several steps and no lift. The entrance through Lygon street has a wheelchair lift which staff can be on hand to assist with operating so the event can be wheelchair accessible.

Wooke kire bang-al (formerly the Archive room) means "change" in Woi wurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri people. If you enter from the Lygon Street entrance walk past the Information Centre, out the automatic doors at the back, turn right and walk through the Loading Bay to another building where there will be signs.

If you enter through Victoria Street, walk up the steps, through the main corridor with murals, and turn right opposite the bluestone steps down a short passageway - Wooke kire bang-al is ahead of you.

Balit Mil (formerly Meeting Room One) is in the Victoria Street wing of the Hall. From Victoria street walk up the steps into the main corridor with murals. The room is to your right. If you enter from the Lygon Street entrance walk past the Information Centre, out the automatic doors at the back, turn right and walk through the Loading Bay to a large open corridor with murals. The room is to your left.

Solidarity Hall can be accessed via Lygon street or Victoria street entrances. From Lygon street, walk past the information centre, out the automatic doors into the courtyard, turn right towards an alcove and right again towards the lifts. Take the lifts to level 1 and follow signs to Solidarity Hall.

From Victoria street walk up the steps into the main corridor with murals. You can either climb the bluestone steps on your left and turn left through the doors towards the Solidarity Statement mural and turn right to Solidarity Hall, or continue through the loading bay and take the lift on the other side to level 1, following signs to Solidarity Hall.

More information about Trades Hall’s accessibility is available here.
