Join union organisers from across Victoria for a three-hour training session that covers the Unions for YES! Campaign including a basic overview of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. You’ll also learn about connecting with the campaign and building conversation skills, explore the key campaign messaging and develop strategies to contextualise the campaign messaging for your members.
The training will be delivered by Lara Watson and Rachel Bos.
Lara Watson is a Birri Gubba woman from Central West Queensland and the Indigenous officer with the ACTU, having worked on numerous Indigenous campaigns, including the fight for Muckaty, Queensland Stolen Wages, the NT Intervention & the ‘Wage Justice’ campaign for Community Development Workers in remote communities through the First Nations Workers Alliance.
Rachel Bos is a Kaurna woman and the ACTU First Nations Educator and Officer. She is a former teacher from Queensland and has worked for the Queensland Teachers Unions in several roles on specific projects and in recruitment roles, including co-chairing the steering committee for the QTU’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
