Union Officials are invited to a union briefing about IWWD 2026.
Since Australia's first International Working Women's Day rally held in 1928 in Sydney by The Militant Women’s Group IWWD has been about connecting women’s emancipation with class struggle.
We're planning the Victorian union movements biggest ever IWWD for Friday 6 March 2026.
The briefing will cover:
- why unions need to be part of International Working Women's Day
- our plan for the first ever Statewide Delegate Training Day using the new delegates rights
- lunchtime activation/rally
- training opportunities for people across the movement
- ways your union can get involved and next steps
In order to fight the patriarchy we need to be organised, trained and prepared. We want to see union women and members making changes in their workplaces!
Join the briefing on Thursday 30th October at 12:30pm to learn more about the day and how your union can organise their delegation.
