From the 1st of July the National Minimum Wage will be increased to $882.80 per week or $23.23 per hour and there is a 5.75% increase to award wages!
It's a small win in a time where young people are struggling most financially, but it's only a win if workers receive it.
So young workers are out hitting the streets to make sure that workers are aware and checking their payslips this week to make sure no dodgy boss is stealing their wages!
We will meet at Vic Trades Hall on the steps at 10am for a briefing and to get all our materials and then we will Blitz Melbourne CBD hospo and retail!
This will be a great opportunity to chat to workers, build strength in numbers and solidarity between young workers.
Workers aged 30 and under are encouraged to attend Young Workers Centre events.
