All union delegates, elected or appointed according to their union’s rules, are entitled to up to five days paid leave from their employer for the purpose of attending union education on their role.
In response to these new union-won rights, the Australian Trade Union Institute (ATUI) and Victorian Trades Hall Council are making available a FREE half-day delegate education course open to delegates from all unions.
This half-day in-person training session covers foundation-level modules providing a sound basis for being an effective workplace delegate:
• New Delegates’ Rights
• Legal and Industrial Framework
• New laws and entitlements arising from Closing the Loopholes legislation
• Combatting disinformation
This is a great opportunity for delegates to meet with delegates from other industries and unions, and the half day session will finish with a BBQ all delegates are invited to attend. Vego and vegan options will be available.
