Join fellow unionists and community activists to discuss how we can increase working power in our communities, protect our public services, and win local campaigns on the issues that matter.
Big business interests have had too much power over politics for far too long - it's time for change.
If we want government that addresses the needs of real people, we need more real people to win elections - people with experience working on the shop floor, the warehouse, in classrooms, and in hospitals.
Together, we'll discuss what is at stake when our local decision-makers don't share our values and workshop strategies to get local progressives elected!
We'll also get to hear from Wayne Sproule, an alumni of the We Are Union: Candidate School program who was successfully elected to Central Goldfields council in 2020. He'll speak about his experience as a Councilor, what he learnt on the campaign trail, and why it's so important for workers' voices to be represented in politics.
