The use of technology, including ever more sophisticated forms of surveillance, as well as the use of artificial intelligence and algorithmic management have proliferated in recent years. These technologies vary across industries and include call-time logging, eye-tracking or technologies that can track time-on-task. Some technologies even purport to be able to monitor workers personality traits and mannerisms and use these to determine their customers. These technologies pose significant risks to workers health and safety and regulation hasn't caught up.
That's why Victorian Trades Hall Council is hosting a webinar on the health and safety impacts of AI and workplace surveillance. Joined by Matthew Scherer from the Center for Democracy & Technology we will discuss the impact of workplace surveillance and AI on workers health, including their psychological health, the current capabilities employers have with regards to surveillance technology and the reforms we need to make sure that workers health, safety and privacy is protected.
There will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions and incorporate your own workplace experience into the conversation.
The event will be held on Zoom. Don't miss out, RSVP today!
