Feminism at the Hall - End the Silence, Let Us Speak!

If we are to end workplace sexual harassment, we need to end the misuse of NDAs.

Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) are commonly used in the settlement of workplace sexual harassment cases. NDAs enable harassers to continue with impunity and allow employers to hide health and safety risks from their employees. It's not good enough.

We need to ban all non-disclosure agreements in cases of workplace sexual harassment and discrimination, other than those requested by victim-survivors to protect their own confidentiality. We need to end the silence.

As part of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, join us for an end of year Feminism at the Hall discussion and hear about the impacts of NDAs and what we as unionists can do to end their misuse.

Special guests:

  • Liberty Sanger - Principal, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers
  • Dr. Julie Macfarlane, co-founder of the global Can't Buy My Silence campaign to ban NDAs
  • Sascha Peldova-McClelland, Senior Legal and Industrial Officer, ACTU

The event will be followed with light drinks, snacks and solidarity to reflect on a big year in union and think what we can win for women in the year ahead.
