Denis Napthine is helping ex-Liberal MP Geoff Shaw draft legislation to overhaul Victoria's abortion laws and undermine Victorian women's right to choose, all so he can cling to government.
The rogue MP's radical views are being supported by the Napthine government in exchange for Mr Shaw's balance-of-power vote in Parliament.
From the Australian today: "The abortion correspondence is the missing link between the government's negotiations with Mr Shaw and its attempts to ensure the former Liberal MP continued to vote with the Coalition."
Enough is enough! Premier Napthine is so reliant on Geoff Shaw's vote that he is allowing a fringe opinion to drive the government's legislative agenda.
It is time to tell Premier Napthine to make a choice. He can govern for Geoff Shaw, or he can govern for all Victorians.
Take the pledge: Tell Dr Napthine you won't vote for a government that puts our reproductive rights in the hands of one fringe MP.
Last Friday Attorney-General George Brandis announced that repealing Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act would be the first legislative priority of Tony Abbott’s newly elected government.
Not creating jobs, not addressing economic hardship, not promoting education or health or protecting the environment. The first priority of this government is making it easier for racists to promote their hate-speech.
The working people of Australia stand against all forms of racial discrimination. We hold that laws against public humiliation and intimidation of a racial group are consistent with Australia’s commitments under the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
Tony Abbott and the Liberal Government need to put human rights ahead of the screeching demands of their racist mates at NewsCorp.
We call on Attorney-General George Brandis not to repeal Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.
Tony Abbott announced recently through the Herald Sun a "strike force" of ex-top cops and "union busters" to "help root out law-breaking unionists, bikies and thugs on building sites".
This was the first policy announcement from Abbott and already we can see the hostility that Australian workers will face over the next three years.
Take Action. Sign the petition below.
Tony Abbott wants to return to regressive Howard-era workplace relations laws that saw the men and women of the construction industry subject to their own set of oppressive, discriminatory, thuggish laws.
We want to prevent the spread of sham contracting that undermined the wages and conditions of construction workers under the old ABCC.
Tell Tony Abbott that the Australian Building & Construction Commission has no place in a free, democratic Australia.
