Join us in the now-famous CFMEU Loading Bay at Victorian Trades Hall to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2016.
This event includes music performances from local artists as well as food and drink. Entry by donation with all money raised donated to Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service (FVPLS) to support their "Sisters Day Out" program.
Sisters Day Out is a one-day workshop which builds resilience and self-esteem among Aboriginal women and breaks down barriers to reporting violence. So far, over 7000 Aboriginal women have participated.
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. It is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
Limited edition t-shirts featuring artwork from Indigenous artist, Josh Muir, will be available on the night with all money raised donated to FVPLS. Entry with your union card.
