Trades Hall welcomes fast-tracked Level Crossings Removal Authority

Sunday 15 February

The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) welcomes the establishment of the Level Crossings Removal Authority. This is an important step to create more Victorian jobs.

VTHC Secretary Luke Hilakari said "it's time we got Victoria's public infrastructure moving again".

"For too long the Liberal Party had dithered over building projects."

"Over 200,000 Victorians are struggling with unemployment, and these are the type of investments that will create jobs so families can start paying the bills.

“The VTHC will continue to work with the Andrews Labor Government to ensure that infrastructure projects provide work for local businesses and critical jobs for Victorians”.

The VTHC has been advocating for a greater investment in infrastructure for the last four years. The need for fast-tracked infrastructure projects was a key message in last years state election campaign.

"Not only will these level crossing removals create much-needed jobs, but they will also get workers home to their families faster and more safely.

This is an important project for all of Victoria" said Mr Hilakari.
