Mental Health Conversation Training - Online

RSVP'S CLOSED DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND - A SECOND TRAINING WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR MID FEBRUARY.

Psychological injuries at work are on the increase. Last year, they made up over 16% of all WorkCover claims. Workers who suffer a psychological injury are on average off work for longer than a physical injury and are also less likely to return to the workplace where they were injured.

Although workplaces are placing more focus on mental health, the focus is so often on what to do after someone suffers a mental health injury rather than how to have conversations that identify hazards and encourage workers to get help and prevent injury. HSRs and union delegates are often the first point of contact for workers having trouble. That's why knowing how to have effective conversations about mental health, and what to do when you identify an issue, is so important. Because of this, Victorian Trades Hall Council is hosting training for HSRs, union delegates and members on mental health conversations at work.

The workshop will run for 90 minutes; there's plenty of room for participation, questions and for you to incorporate your own industry specific knowledge into the conversation. You will be emailed the Zoom link to join when you RSVP.

We look forward to seeing you there.
