The Victorian government has recently released a series of recommendations for regulating the gig economy, and we need to make sure that those recommendations are approved by the workers who will be impacted by any changes.
It is due to the incredible campaigning of gig economy workers that we have put this issue on the political agenda. For years, workers have bravely spoken out about the underpayment, safety issues, and unfair treatment they experience on platforms like Uber, Deliveroo and Airtasker.
We know what the problems are, and now we have the opportunity to drive the solutions.
We're inviting any Victorian gig economy workers to join an online consultation session to share your thoughts and tell us what changes would improve your working life.
The Victorian government has indicated it is willing to implement changes to regulate the gig economy and ensure a fairer deal for workers who use platforms like Airtasker, Uber, Deliveroo, and Care.com.
Join us for an online consultation session where organisers across the union movement can share our legislative and policy ideas for regulating the gig economy and respond to the recommendations recently released from the Inquiry into the On Demand Economy.
Please note: This consultation session is for union officials only. Dedicated consultation sessions with gig economy workers will take place across September and can be found here:
