Gendered Violence Training

HSR Refresher Training Course - Work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment

Section 67 of the OH&S Act 2004 entitles all OHS and Deputy Reps who have completed a 5 day initial training course to attend a one day refresher training course each year and choose the course they wish to attend in consultation with their employer.

Work related gendered violence including sexual harassment is a serious occupational health and safety issue that can be addressed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS training course will help HSRs to understand and exercise their powers effectively. The training will provide HSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their co-workers when raising health and safety concerns in relation to work-related gendered violence.

This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS training course aims to provide HSRs with the skills and knowledge needed to raise and resolve, on behalf of their designated work group members, health and safety issues arising from incidents of work-related gendered violence.

The refresher course covers:

  • Consultation, communication and representation

  • Gendered violence: definitions, impacts and injury

  • Identifying risks, risk assessment, prevention and the hierarchy of control

  • Resolving issues
