We’ve got the world’s biggest Valentine’s Day card, addressed to penalty rates. And we need you help to fill it!
At the end of the month, and after 2 years of hearings and over 6000 submissions, the Fair Work Commission will be handing down a decision as to whether penalty rates will be cut.
All along this inquiry has just been a poor attempt to provide political cover to the Liberal party’s anti-worker agenda.
Ever since Malcolm Turnbull and his Liberal mates declared war on penalty rates the union movement have fought to protect penalty rates for hundreds of thousands of working people. It’s more important than ever that we stand up and fight to protect rates.
So this Thursday We Are Union volunteers will be spending some time at the Wells Street Market in Frankston with a gigantic valentines day card to penalty rates, getting members of the public to write a message of love to penalty rates.
