Join We are Union: Young Workers and Hospo Voice on Tuesday December 10 to catch up with fellow activists, reflect on the year and watch documentary Dear Walmart.
Dear Walmart explores the journey of four Walmart workers in locations around the US as they stood up, built a movement, and won major victories for their 1.5 million fellow Walmart workers in the U.S. — including higher wages (from $7.25 to $11 an hour), paid family leave, and accommodations for pregnant women.
These workers are standing up, fighting back and changing lives. This is a great story of hope that shows that when we fight, we win.
We're also thrilled that Dan Schlademan will be visiting us! Dan is the co-founder and co-director of United for Respect - the organisation taking on the biggest retailers in the world and winning real change for millions of US workers through innovative use of social media and online communities to organise workers.
