5 ways we're winning this week

1. Local businesses are behind workers!

Emergency services workers have started distributing posters for shop windows. Locals are all too happy to help their local heroes out.

2. Our "Footy records" went down a treat...

We ran some very successful Grand Final street stalls, with locals taking big stacks of our "Napthine drops the ball" footy records to distribute at their backyard BBQs!

3.Don's banner went up

Don's one of our most dedicated volunteers. He doesn't have a huge disposable income, but he still made an incredibly generous donation to our crowd-funding campaign. This banner on the corner of Lygon and Victoria belongs to Don and scores of other volunteers who believe in our campaign.

4. Check us out, chewing gum while walking

At the Federal level, our letter-writing/petitioning/social media campaign efforts seem to have paid off, with Senator John Madigan committing to vote against Tony Abbott's workchoices style laws. Our next target is Senator Ricky Muir - you can add your name to the petition here.

5. A milestone for Tara and Lil

At Wednesday night's phone bank Tara and Lil both clocked up their 20th hour volunteering! What a team!

Tara also explained her motivation for volunteering in a Real Story blog.

The phone banks this week are focussed on turning members out to our October DOORKNOCKS! Save your fellow volunteers a phone call by signing yourself up to a doorknock here!

We Volunteers

We Are Union. We are a movement of people standing together for a just and equitable Victoria where:

  • all people are respected and valued,
  • all working people are organised, safe, and winning at work

We organise our communities to build support for union, industrial, and social campaigns, and we're excited to have you on board.
