If we don't vote, we cop a fine. The following info is from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC): We will be asked; whether to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. The AEC’s role is to run the referendum, not to discuss for or against the proposed change. The Federal Government has stated its intention to hold the referendum sometime between Sep -Dec 2023.
